Answering the Call to Serve as a Missionary in Ukraine
I may have grown up in the United States, but somewhere in the depths of my heart there has always been a part connected to Ukraine, the country of my birth.
Only God can write such a story - growing up in the states, in a typical church community. But like many in the same kind of scenario, a hardening happened at Slavic culture - coming to the point that I would avoid the cultural affairs of it. Thank God for God and Him being so after us being whole and healthy - needless to say, about 4 years ago I felt a tug at my spirit that a day would come and I would return to my homeland. That moment has come to fruition - the past 1.5 years have been lived half in ukraine, half here int he states.
Faith has been a driving force in my life from a very early age, and it has only grown stronger over time. As I went through adolescence and entered into young adulthood, I knew that God was calling her to a life of service and ministry. After completing studies, she spent a few years working in various companies - but always came back to serving in the church. Eventually I stepped out and moved to California to become a part of Flame of Fire Ministry (where I have been on staff the preceding years to going to Ukraine). All the while, I felt a growing sense that I needed to step out in faith and pursue more focused ministry work.
My journey to becoming a missionary was not an easy one. There were many obstacles along the way, and times when I wondered (even recently) whether I was truly cut out for this kind of work. However, through strong faith and the support of those around me, I continue to press on and persevere, trusting that God had a plan.
Since arriving in Ukraine, I has been working with several different organizations and churches, helping to meet the spiritual needs of the people there. One of her primary areas of focus has been on chaplain outreaches - being able to touch the lives of those defending their homeland as well as providing aid to affected towns and villages. Additionally, I have partnered on multiple kids & youth projects (camps, trainings, conferences, retreats) as I believes that investing in young people is crucial to the future of the church in Ukraine. I have also been involved in evangelism and outreach efforts, seeking to share the love and message of Christ with those who have not yet heard it.
One of the things that makes my ministry work particularly impactful is the ability to relate to those I am serving. Having grown up in Ukraine and now being culturally fluent in both Ukrainian and American traditions, I is able to bridge the gap between these two worlds and build meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. I also draw on my personal experiences of faith and struggle to connect with those who may be going through difficult times.
Despite the challenges that come with being a missionary in a foreign country, I continue to remains steadfast in the dedication to the work. I knows that I am exactly where I am meant to be, and that God has a plan for the ministry in Ukraine. Whether it's through humanitarian aid coordination, acquiring medical aid, traveling out east to the front lines, leading a youth group, hosting a bible study, or simply being a friend to those around her, I is committed to serving God and spreading His message of love and hope.
As I continues to serve as a missionary in Ukraine, I choose to remain a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who are near. Through the tireless work and unshakable faith, I choose to continue to make a real difference in the lives of countless people, helping to bring the light of Christ to a country in need. I choose to pursue this calling with all my heart and soul.
